only a link to an affiliate program my goal is to share real value so that you could actually grow your business let’s get started if you are paralyzed because you’re not getting the views you thought you would using tailwind here are my four expert tips that will change your views almost overnight tip number one understand that there is still a manual paining component even when you’re using tail lights now this is an intermediate level Pinterest video so if you are just getting started on Pinterest make sure you complete all of the prerequisite steps you can do that with my free getting started checklist you’ll find a link to download in the comments below or if you don’t have time for that visit my services page and get started with a Pinterest getting started package I’ll do everything for you and then all you have to do is maintain your account now let’s get back to business tailwind is an amazing tool and I would never have the reach that I do without it however understanding the way the Pinterest algorithm works first is really important to making tailwind work for you always pin a brand new pin directly from your blog several times a week it doesn’t have to be completely new content but it does have to be a brand new pin remember Pinterest is a search engine so they love brand new content but that content needs to be pinned to the most relevant board with the highest virality score you’ll notice in this example I have four different pins for this particular blog post as well as the plug-in on my WordPress website that gives the reader an easy way to click and pen I’m going to choose the most relevant board as the very first board that this new content gets pinned to and I’m going to pay careful attention to both keywords and hashtags inside the description as you can see as I type Pinterest automatically populates suggested hashtags make sure you use their suggestions in addition you want to make sure that the first time a pin is pinned directly from your blog it goes to a board with a very high virality score you can find by reality scores inside your tailwind dashboard in the left sidebar click on board insights then sort your virality score from highest to lowest in this example my blogging tips Vogue media board has an extremely high virality score so it’s important that every new pin goes to that board first in order to leverage the good momentum of the board tip number two know how to find your highest performing pins and repin those two group boards let’s take a quick look at Google Analytics from your Google Analytics dashboard click on acquisition then social then click on network referrals as you can see Pinterest has the absolute most referrals of any social network click on Pinterest and these will show you the URL of the best performing posts on your website to find the pin that’s referring the most to those posts click into a post and you can see that each of these pins has a different number each separate pin on Pinterest has a different URL so this is going to tell you exactly which pins are sending the most traffic to your blog post it’s likely that you’ll have more than one creative so this is a good way split test which pins are performing the best so if you grab the source URL copy it and paste it in your browser this is going to bring up the exact pin that is referring the most traffic so if you take a look at this particular pin you can see that it has generated 192 thousand impressions 509 saves and two over 2000 link clicks so this particular version of the pin which is the one that I pinned to my highest viral board is the pin that is referring the most amount of traffic to that particular blog post over the last two weeks tip number three keep a close eye on your notifications on a daily basis you’ll need to find the notifications that say 10 of your pins were repend because those were actually pinned by other people and you can repin those to relevant group boards it will not count the same as repinning you’re okay so this notification in particular tells me this pin was saved 12 times and when I view the detailed activity I can actually see the people who are repainting it and to what board so pick a few that are pinned to relevant boards in this case the relevance is blogging so I’m going to repin this to another relevant group board that I belong to here’s a pro tip when you’re repenting your pins from other people a good practice is to hop on that same group board and repin another one of the pins on the group board to one of your own relevant boards comment below and let me know if you use tailwind for your business tip number four pay attention to when your audience reap ends your pins because you want to make sure that you’re doing at least some manual pinning at the time of day that your Pinterest account is most active now that you’ve got the manual pinning strategy nailed down here’s a quick tip to drive more traffic to your youtube channel create a brand new Pinterest board just for YouTube videos and any time you add a pin make sure you add the direct URL to your YouTube video and don’t forget to make sure that your title and description have well researched keywords and hashtags just like a regular pin you’ll be surprised how many additional views you can generate through Pinterest and if you want even more
