Okay today I want to talk a little bit more about Apple and their business strategy and how they’ve kind of defined their target audience the find their market and mostly where they set themselves apart from the competition namely the windows phones and definitely from the Android operating system phones for the most part for those not familiar this is called Porter’s three generic strategies um you’ve got price so the low-cost leader as this is also called you um people like Walmart or maybe even Honda things that are generally thought of as being low cost and that’s their main appeal fall into this category here you have differentiation which things like the BMW’s you have anything that sets itself apart by added features rather than price um I mean you can use your imagination there rolex would fall into this category anything that’s high-end or that adds some type of new feature definitely falls into this category and then under segmentation which has to do with both of these and that’s whether you have a narrow focus depending on okay we’re going after a certain niche or are we going after just a very generic broad kind of everyone a market such as the case with Walmart and actually iphone the reason that Apple’s been so successful i believe is the iphone was the first smartphone that literally everyone could you it was very appealing to tech people because it was cutting edge and it was also very easy to use but most importantly where Apple really set itself apart was in the differentiation setting itself apart from the competition they didn’t try to compete on price whatsoever I found replied the most if not one of the most expensive phones out there they really were able to have perceived value and I say perceived value because there are phones out there now we’re certain features are at least as good as if not better than the iphone and some of these things are not debatable some is a preference thing but certain things like the camera you know cpu speed things like this there are phones out there that are just as good if not better but where Apple has succeeded is in their marketing of being this end-all be-all a super high-end you know it’s going to cost you three times as much as the competitors but you’re getting quality now I would argue that they for the most part that quality is there but I’ve also seen some pretty shady looking Apple builds especially when you talk about laptops and you know some of the macbooks and things like that out there they have had some problems yeah you know is the quality worth three times as much I would probably say no I would definitely argue against that you know I’ve got lenovo laptop and you will talk about quality lenovo makes you know from IBM they make some quality laptops i would say just as good is probably most macbook you know pros or heirs or whatever but you know lenovo doesn’t have that brand they don’t have the apple you know when you think of apple you think of quality when take of lenovo you probably most people just think of just so it’s just another laptop or you know just another tech manufacturer they don’t associate it with that quality so that’s the perceived value that Apple has been able to create and that’s really why they’ve been so successful is because they’ve been able to charge you know a thousand two thousand dollars for a laptop where you could go get you know a Windows version Zack same laptop speed wise you know maybe even faster for a third of the price but people it just doesn’t have that perceived quality or the image of being not just quality but also its kind of the cool dare I say hipster movement you know it’s the edgy cool you know unmade stream a laptop and cellphone smartphone they have that image going for them as well so yeah just go when you’re talking about the ipad i have seen so many people rip the i mean i’ve seen a lot of good reviews about it but i’ve also seen a lot of people compare this to the ipad the nexus 7 fired up so y’all can see that this is an amazing tablet I don’t care what anyone says some people complain about the screen size I think it’s perfect a 7-inch form factor I’m sold on it I don’t think that I would use anything I looked at some eight inch tablets I might use a eight and a half inch tablet any more than that and I might as well just carry around a laptop that’s the way I look at it but this is an amazing tablet not just because jelly bean and Android or pretty awesome on that but the actual hardware itself what’s under the hood the games on this thing look just phenomenal since I’m on a rant about it let me fire up one dead trigger real quick I could cut the video here’s my take a second to load I mean look at that that those are some sexy graphics right there and now i’m probably going to be eaten by zombies okay i’m gonna get attacked but there you go look at those graphics this tablet is a hundred and ninety nine dollars but yeah that’s just what I wanted the point I wanted to prove that tablet was a hundred and ninety-nine dollars that is literally a third of an ipad now an ipad maybe a little bit bigger and you can say that that you know the apps are a little better developed or whatever but is an ipad going to give you three times the value of this if you really think about it most people would ply say no but it nexus doesn’t have the perceived value that Apple has they don’t have that brand recognition that Apple has and that’s that is ninety percent of apple’s revenue stream that’s that’s the key to success they take technology that already exists a polish it up a little bit they repackage it put it together and make it look a little bit shinier in leader and then it just it’s apple so everyone has to pay three times as much for it same way that people pay you know twice as much for a Lexus when is it really that much different from a Honda or an accord no not really is it twice the car absolutely not but people want that that brand they have to have the apple logo on it or it’s not cool it’s not here it’s not new you you know it’s not quality which I’ve said Apple products that they for the most part they do have a certain quality about them you know that for the most part they’re going to work all right but still two thousand dollars for a laptop no sir I’ll stick with my six no dollar lenovo with the i3 works perfectly fine for me but you had at all you got for the day that’s my little rant I’m prepared for all the backlash from the Apple fanboys even though I really don’t think it’s justified with this video because I’m not saying that they don’t think apple is a good company i’m just showing you what they’ve been able to do I’m actually giving Apple credit here they are geniuses for going by this model and going look we don’t need to compete on price if we can create a brand image where people think that it has value whether that value is you know whether that belief of the value from Apple is you know wrong or right true or false well that’s up to debate you could debate that all day but the fact that they have created that perceived value I mean good for them I’m not knocking into that that’s smart business but yeah anyways I’m ready for the backlash playing to get some dislikes but please subscribe I will have more videos coming and they will be better quality and I am in the process of moving so it’s that also and I won’t be in this room that looks like a sketchy looking background here for anybody who’s noticed that I’ve been wearing the same shirt for the last couple of videos it’s not actually the same shirt just to prove to y’all I’ve got I was the store and bought me a ton of these shirts there colombia’s dri-fit they’re awesome I bought one listen to a technology about a side note I went to the store went to Academy tried one out for twenty bucks went home put it on and decided that I had to have at least five more because they’re just the most comfortable shirts that you can go everywhere they’re perfect I mean they look good you can wear them you know out in a ballot or you can just you know where 14 lounge around the house about to do but yeah that’s all I got for today stay tuned for more see you
