Marketing Strategy for Real Estate Videos

you’re a realtor and you just had this incredible video created for your next luggage relisting and you’re trying to figure out the best way to market this video across the internet but that can be a little overwhelming with so many different options so what I did is to simplify the process I created a simple online checklist that you can download that’s one-page that gives you the strategy and different platforms to post your video to get the most out of your property video so video is this incredible tool that can really help you showcase your home in a very beautiful and cinematic way but the thing about real estate videos is they’re a very targeted video design fair and very narrow audience it’s not like a cat video where you’ll just throw it up on YouTube and you’ll get thousands of hits you have to be very strategic with how you market these real estate videos so what I found is with working with some of the top real estate agents for the past four years the best place to showcase these videos is in your pre-existing social media networks where you already have interested buyers and you have a whole network of Realtors that know a wide variety of potential buyers so let me walk you through the different platforms and how to best showcase these videos so what I personally do as a video creator is anytime I make a real estate video I make three different versions I make the full length version which is the real estate video from start to finish that shows everything that I felt that I film I also create a 60-second highlight version and then a 15-second teaser so as you follow along you can notice that there’s different versions that are better for sharing different ways so let me walk you through the specifics on how to share it across different social media networks so the first social media network on the checklist is Instagram Instagram is such a great place to share your video because their Instagram is designed for sharing videos and photos so what you want to do is you want to share the highlight version the 60 second highlight version and I actually make this a square format version which winter view and mobile gives you that extra little space as opposed to a horizontal video where you lose a little bit of a screen real estate so you want to pick a great thumbnail and then have an awesome description and then share it while you’re on Instagram you also want to upload the 15 second highlight version to your Instagram stories and what I do is I leave a little space on the top and the bottom so you can write your own custom captions and use this Instagram story multiple times so what ages normally do is on the top they might put just listed and the bottom go with your dress and then you’ll have the video plate in the middle and you could also upload this again say you have an open house you can say open house Saturday and then give stay for like two to four on the bottom and when you sell the house you can say just sold so the Instagram story is a very versatile video that you can use we’ll times and keep repurposing for give to give people kind of a constant reminder that you have this house on the market or that you’ve been an awesome agent you’ve just sold it so an Instagram story video is so powerful and actually one of my favorite its favorite resources for work or real estate video so moving on there’s Facebook and Facebook is an us also a very powerful tool so you want to go on your professional page and upload the video pick a great thumbnail and caption and share it and then also you also want to share it on your personal page because that actually probably get more engagement from your personal connections and friends so once you have that that’s a great way where people can take a look at it if they have a friend that might want the house they can just tag them in it and then they’ll be able to see it right away which is awesome so Facebook is also a very powerful tool to share your video moving on another less utilized social media network that agents have actually had a lot of success with recently is LinkedIn so LinkedIn has a native video feature where you can also upload the video and it appears on your Linkedin timeline and that’s super valuable because a lot of your LinkedIn connections are there they’re very business oriented connections so if your realtor you have a bunch of real estate connections LinkedIn is the perfect place to share this video as well so once you’ve uploaded your three main social media networks you definitely want to upload to YouTube as well and you’re probably not going to get as many views or engagement on your YouTube channel unless you have a large channel base already but it’s very useful for a few four reasons so you’ll upload to YouTube you’ll pick a great caption and a great thumbnail and then here’s what you do with it once it’s on YouTube so once it’s on YouTube you can then use that YouTube video and embed it on your custom property website that will then play the YouTube video but embed it on your website so that’s a great way of utilizing YouTube also once it’s on YouTube you can then embed it into your email marketing newsletter so that’s just another way to kind of drive traffic to your video from several different sources so now we come to Zillow and the interesting thing about Zillow is they’ve actually opened up Zillow where you can upload your professional shot video but you can only do this if you’re working with a licensed partner of Zillow so different different photographers and different videographers can get licensed with Zillow or they then will have access to take your professional video and put it on this little list Paige any of my clients that I shoot video content for I can take that video and give to Zillow to put on the listing page for no additional charge to the client which is incredible and very valuable and according to Zillow listings with the video get sorted to the top of Zillow search results so according to Zillow if you have a professional video on your Zillow listing page people are more likely to view it which is actually it which is amazing okay so now you guys have an amazing strategy and game plan for when you have a real estate video and you want to get the most out of it so feel free to download checklist keep it handy and next time
