We’ve been trying these more and more lately, but it really depends on the ad imo. Facebook sometimes seems to be reducing the reach of certain ads with negative sentiment comments….we can’t prove this, but it seems like it’s happening.
Interesting. We haven’t had too much luck with Facebook ads believe it or not. We generated a good amount of leads from the ads, but they fell off and did not convert. On the other hand, Linkedin generated less, but they tended to convert at about a 5% rate for us (pretty good compared to our internal benchmarks for PPC). To each their own it seems!
I’ve heard this can sometimes be the case depending on industry. Certain spaces are swamped with competition for the same audiences which drive the CPMs up considerably. IMO, all depends on what you’re trying to sell.
Reports and eBooks, but they take a bit to index in Google. PPC helps, but for some of our clients the spend is not something they’re willing to stomach.
YES! Reports have been a smashing success for us as well. One of our industry reports produced over 30k leads without PPC. Pick the right topic and it will pay dividends.
Google adwords have been pretty effective and Product Listing Ads. These convert at lower costs than any other marketing methods we have tried outside of inbound, but conversions plummet with this method.

We’ve also noticed the increases. We’re testing out Pinterest ads which seem to look promising, but it’s pretty BETA if you know what I mean…
